GMercyU International 学生 Admission Requirements

At GMercyU, welcoming international students to campus is important to us! That’s why we have simplified the admissions process.

To enroll as an undergraduate international student at Gwynedd Mercy University, you need to:

1. 完成 online undergraduate admissions application.

2. GMercyU will 不 require applicants for Fall 2022 to submit standardized 测试 scores.

If you choose 不 to submit an SAT or ACT score, you will need to submit additional items to complete your application file if you are applying for admission to any of the programs listed below:

  • Accounting - CPA Track
  • 生物学
  • Education (This program requires a U.S. Social Security Number to complete the required background check and sit for the teacher licensure exam.)*
  • Nursing (This program requires a U.S. Social Security Number to complete the required background check and sit for the licensure exam.)*
  • Radiation Therapy (This program requires a U.S. Social Security Number to complete the required background check.)*
  • Respiratory Care (This program requires a U.S. Social Security Number to complete the required background check.)*

If you are applying to one of the programs listed above, you will need to:

  1. Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher in a subject related to their desired major (e.g., a biology teacher if the student is seeking admission to GMercyU’s 生物学 program)
  2. Schedule an in-person or virtual interview with a member of the GMercyU 招生 team

Letters of Recommendation are 不 required for other programs, but are recommended. 如果提交, the letter of recommendation should discuss the applicant’s character and promise as a university student.

Other applicants 五月 also be asked to submit an essay or personal statement and/or be asked to participate in an interview during the application review process.

 
3. Have your transcript evaluated.

We require a course-by-course evaluation from one of the above credentialing services for all schools outside the U.S:

5. Score at least a 79 on the Internet-based 托福考试 测试或6分.0 雅思考试 测试.
  • 托福考试 and 雅思考试 scores lower than the minimum will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • International students whose native langu年龄 is English are required to submit scores.
  • International students are 免除 from submitting 托福考试 scores if they score high enough on the SAT or ACT.
    • SAT: minimum score of 500 in evidence-based reading and writing
    • ACT: earn a 22 composite score or higher

Along with your application, you will need to:

  • Show satisfactory completion of (or current enrollment in) at least 16 units in prescribed and elective subjects as indicated on your high school transcript:
  • 英语:4个单元

  • First-Year 学生s must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
  • Some programs, such as the Nursing program, have higher GPA and coursework requirements. Contact the 招生 Office or refer to the undergraduate catalog for additional detail.

International students who apply to education, nursing and health profession programs must have the ability to obtain the background screening required for placement in a clinical/school setting and should review state licensure requirements before choosing to enroll. 美国.S. background screening process requires a U.S. Social Security Number.

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is a requirement for licensure within certain academic programs. International students and students who are under DACA status or are undocumented should carefully review the licensure requirements for their state before enrolling in a degree program that leads to licensure. SAT and ACT Test Scores

学生s seeking admission for the 2022-2023 academic year are 不 required to submit SAT or ACT 测试 scores, but they are welcome to do so.

  • If you choose to submit SAT or ACT scores, you can send them directly to Gwynedd Mercy University from the 测试ing 年龄ncies or as part of your official high school transcript. Our SAT code is 2278. Our ACT code is 3583.
  • 学生s applying to any of the programs listed above who choose to submit SAT or ACT scores do 不 need to submit a letter of recommendation or schedule an 招生 interview.

If you have completed high school (secondary school) and have been enrolled in a college or university in the US or overseas and earned 24 or more transferable credit hours, you should apply as a transfer student.

Application materials needed for an international transfer student:

If you’re a current GMercyU international student, it’s vital you maintain your U.S. student visa to avoid problems with U.S. 公民身份 & Immigration 服务s. Here are a few things GMercyU international students in the U.S. 应该做的是:

  2. Enroll in a full course load each semester (12 credits for undergrads and nine credits for graduate students)
  3. Tell the Office of International Programs about significant changes in your life (changes of address or major, plans to take a leave of absence, class withdrawals, 等.)

  4. Get a travel signature before traveling outside of the U.S.
  5. Abide by grace periods. You 五月 enter the U.S. 30 days before your program starts and must leave the country within 60 days of the end of your program.
